Our Future Creates Our Present with EFT Tapping Statements
Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.
The topic of the class was “Success, Triumph, and Enchantment.” Jane was the volunteer being processed. Two years ago, Jane had ended a destructive 29 year marriage. Now her life seemed to have stalled. She enjoyed her job and co-workers, yet knew it wasn’t going to support her financially in the long run. She was enjoying her freedom yet did want to date somewhere down the line. She had begun searching for answers.
As Jane was telling her story and the issue she wanted to heal, she was restless, fidgety, and constantly moving in her chair. Whenever the word success was spoken or she was asked about her successes, she put her head back, closed her eyes, and rubbed under her eyes (she wore contact lens). After the 5th or 6th repeated response to success, we asked if she was aware of her body’s reaction to the mentioning of success? She was not. The next time, though, success was mentioned, she began the same response. When her head went back and her eyes closed, she stopped and realized her reaction.
After listening to Jane’s story, I asked the students in the class what they thought the issue was. The student’s responds were the “conventional thinking” answers. Fear of success, fear of failure, low self-esteem, not feeling deserving, lack of self-confidence, and the list went on.
Through muscle testing, we asked the body if any of these conventional thinking issues would get Jane moving forward in her life again. The answer was no. The more nos we got, the more perplexed the students became. “If not any of these,” they asked, “then what?”
Again, though muscle testing, I asked if it had to do that she had not created her future. The body responded with a “Yes.”
Jane stopped moving, stopped fidgeting, and sat in silence for a few minutes. Then with clarity and awareness in her voice, she said that after 29 years of a destructive marriage, when she was finally able to see her life, her future free of her marriage, she was able to leave. But not before. Now that she was free of the marriage, she had not created a new future. She had no idea who she was, who she wanted to become, where she wanted to go. She realized she had not created another future as she did when she wanted to leave her marriage.
Our future creates our present. The future gives our life direction in the present. Once we define our future self and life, a resonance is set up inside of us. It’s as if a turning fork has been struck and we move to vibrate at the same resonance or frequency. When we have defined our future self, it sets up a re-patterning of our automatic responses.
EFT Tapping can help. EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, is a quick, simple, yet highly effective method to clear our issues.
